presence to stop fighting over words. Such arguments are useless, and they can ruin those
who hear them.

drinking poison!
Poor communication almost always leads to conflict, quarreling, gossip, rumors, and hurt
feelings. Learning to tame your tongue and choose your words carefully is strategic to
good communication.
Why would someone want to listen to me?
• 1 S A MU E L 3 :1 9 | As Samuel grew up, the Lord was with him, and everything Samuel said
proved to be reliable.
• 1 K I NG S 1 0 :2 4 | People from every nation came to consult him and to hear the wisdom
God had given him.

Most people are attracted to godly wisdom. While our ungodly neighbors may not identify
it as God’s wisdom, they will want it because it makes so much sense.

Someone without compassion is someone to be feared—ruthless, unmerciful, callous,
