2018-2019 School Year In Review - Page 3

Recounting the School-Year
with EAT360
EAT360 was introduced in Fall 2018 to both educate young eaters and support
healthy lifestyles for families in our school communities. The program nurtures
Philadelphia area students through hands-on nutrition education that
emphasizes the use of whole foods and whole ingredients in a thoughtful,
safe, classroom environment. Furthermore, our team of nutrition educators is a
resource for adult community members and caregivers as well.

A Farewell to
Kelly Herrenkohl
It is bittersweet as we
say goodbye to our
COO, Kelly Herrenkohl.
For the past 13 years,
her time, effort, and
dedication to our
organization has been
unparalleled. While she
will be dearly missed,
we wish her the best in
her future endeavors
and are confident that
she is leaving VCP a
stronger organization
than it has ever
been before.
Adding a Third Mobile Teaching
Kitchen Opens a World of Possibilities
Our Mobile Teaching Kitchen
has had quite a busy year! One
of the most exciting additions
includes the purchasing of
another vehicle, adding to our
fleet of now three. This new
Mobile Teaching Kitchen
“Mini” is a smaller version of
our current trucks, which allows
us to more efficiently reach our
program partners to deliver
indoor programming such as
workshops and demos without
all of the bulk of the full sized
trucks.
With the help of all three of our
trucks, MTK made over 250
visits between September
and May, delivering over 1,800
hours of nutrition education
to over 10,000 participants
throughout the Philly and
Camden region. Doing this was
a tremendous team effort which
required all hands on deck and
the addition of one new full-
time and three new parttime MTK staff members,
as well as the help of our many
volunteers.
This Summer we have over 100
more visits scheduled - look
for #VetriOnWheels on social
media to see where the truck
will be next!
