Communications Director
As we approach the end of 2017, I write this column with a bunch of mixed
feelings. This “To the Point” story will be my last. My term as the Communications
Director with your Civic Association comes to an end December 31, 2017.
When I volunteered (with the major encouragement of Mike Cooper, President)
two years ago, I believed that I could make a difference in our Community. At the
time the area was suffering and I felt that a lack of communication was hampering
all the fine efforts being made at the time by the Association Board. I jumped in with
both feet and used every bit of knowledge, experience, and effort I could muster to
help make things better. It has been a privilege to work with such a fine group of talented individuals that comprise your Association Board. The many efforts both seen
and unseen by the Board have kickstarted and brought back to life a community that
had lost its way. Resident volunteering and event participation numbers are growing
steadily. The community as a whole is rebounding in many positive ways. I am so
proud of all the success we have had and look forward with interest to see how and
just what the new Board will do to keep this ball rolling in the right direction.
It is time for me to retire, turn my pen over to a new Director and work on my long
overdue “Bucket List”.
To everyone on the Board, association members, all the terrific volunteers and
concerned residents of Citrus Springs, I sincerely thank you for your help and support
over the last two years working together to improve this great community.
I wish you all a very Merry Christmas and a bright, happy and prosperous New
Year!
Regards, Roy Goyette
