RSSP Butterfly Garden Needs
By the time of this printing, the Wild, Wild, West! Dinner/Dance is only a
memory. I sincerely hope that everyone had a great time and that you are now
looking forward to the Annual Picnic in October. New ideas and designs are
already being thrown out to make this the best yet!
Community members will also have had the opportunity to attend a quarterly
Meet and Greet with another one scheduled for April 25th in the evening
to catch our residents that work during the day. We hope many of you can
come out and join us for light refreshments and to meet new residents for an
opportunity to chat. And don’t forget Shredder Day is April 21st. Details are
listed in Fred Hileman’s article.
Several new ideas have been discussed at our monthly meetings and details
will be forthcoming soon. Progress on our mission is happening! Neighbors
Connecting Neighbors is truly near and dear to all of the RSRO board members.
Instituting new programs and new ideas to help pull our community together
is what we are all about. But it takes a village....or several villages (as in the
Villages of Rainbow Springs) to truly make our community the place to retire,
to raise a family and in general, just enjoy life. Join us by becoming a member
to help us engage our community and add to the fun.
The butterfly garden at Rainbow Springs State Park is looking for new
volunteers who like to:
• Dig in the dirt and garden.
• Pull weeds.
• Trim plants that have died back.
• Meet the public and explain or interpret which plants are which.
• Learn about butterfly plants, both hosts and nectar plants.
• Keep paths clear and attractive.
• Care for and transplant new plants from the greenhouse to the butterfly
• Other chores that need to be done!
If you are interested, please contact Jon at jonbrainard@gmail.com or
call him at 407 491 8158. You may apply online at  https://volunteers.
