Neighbors Connecting Neighbors
By Fred Hileman
Well, Howdy Pardners how did that go? Did we all have a fantastic time at the
OK Corral? Maybe not a corral, but it sure seemed as if we were in the “Wild, Wild
West.” The work that was involved in bringing this to the members of RSRO was
phenomenal. There were over 24 volunteer members supporting many committees
that worked diligently to make this happen. I bet that it won’t be long before this
great group will again be planning for next year. Kudos goes out to all for a job well
Our Community Wide Yard Sale was busy with visitors. We scheduled it for an
earlier date and hope all were successful sellers. Feedback through NabrNetwork
would be welcomed if you think March is a good period for the Spring Sale. Mark
your calendars November 9 and 10 when we will again gear up for our fall Yard
Sale event.
Shredder Day is April 21 from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM in the Rainbow Springs
Realty parking lot, corner of Highway 41 and SW 88th Place Road. This event
is open to anyone in Rainbow Springs. Each household will be allowed to shred
up to 3 medium-sized garbage bags of personal documents and files. No private
business documents of any kind are permitted. Other items not permitted are, books,
magazines, binders, newspapers, bottles, cans, plastic bags, and rope.
Hear ye, hear ye, hear ye, this proclamation advises one and all that June is
the kick off for our annual photo contest. Think about snapping your prized photo
which just may be the winning entry to enhance the cover of our 2019 “Residents
Directory.” One requirement is that you must be a member of the RSRO. Further
details will be available in May’s Villager. Copies of the 2018 “Resident’s
Directory” is still available at the Beach Area office and at the Realty Office.
If you aren’t a member, now is the time to think about joining and get capturing
that cover winner. Membership is just $20.00 for the year. This fee gives you a big
bang for your buck. The $20.00 membership supplements the fee you are charged
for the Annual Picnic, Dinner Dance, and brings you Shredder Day among other
Meet and Greet was moved up to the 4th of April, but another is planned for
April 25th at 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM. This will give others who work days a chance to
come out to meet some of the board members and their neighbors. Meet & Greet is
not only for new, but also for those of us who are not new members.
The next General Membership meeting will be held at the Sherriff’s Station on
US Hwy 41, May 3rd 10:00 AM. Consider joining us as we continue the fun of
“Neighbors Connecting Neighbors.”
