Honza Rosenbaum),
The Museum’s work is
essential and ongoing.
By remembering the
Holocaust survivor and
dear friend, born in
Ostrava, Czechoslovakia,
in 1928. After escaping to
Poland in 1939, Rosenbaum
was arrested and sent to
a labor camp in Yakutsk,
Siberia. Released in 1943,
Rosenbaum joined the
Czechoslovak army, and
in 1948 immigrated to
Israel, where he joined the
Palmach and fought in the
first war of independence.
He subsequently served in
Israel’s Foreign Ministry
and later in Mossad, the
Israeli secret service. The
father of two children and
numerous grandchildren
and great-grandchildren,
he currently lives in Tel
Yitzhak, Israel. His motto:
enlightened egoist.”
