Without the United States
Holocaust Memorial
Museum, the history of
my family would have been lost.
Both of my parents were Polish
and both survived the Holocaust.
My father, Wolf, was liberated
from Mauthausen, and my mother,
Fanny, survived the death march
to Volary. I knew little of this until
I became more involved with the
Museum, and the researchers sent
me documents about my family that
I had never seen. The importance
of the Museum as a depository of
knowledge cannot be overstated.
For me personally, it was so moving
to learn more about my family after
they were gone. This legacy gift
is a way to honor my parents and
support the work that will help
others like me to become more
connected to their past.”
