TELLING
THE WORLD
The last time my father
saw his mother, she
pushed him out of a
second-story window
knowing that was his best chance
of survival. Her last words to him
were, ‘Survive. Tell the world what
happened here. The world will
someday need you.’ After that, she
was killed and buried in a mass
grave, and my father, Rabbi Philip
Lazowski, escaped into the forest
of Poland, where he lived for over
two years. He and my mother,
Ruth Lazowski, both survived the
atrocities of the Holocaust and have
dedicated their lives to honoring
those last words. As teachers and
educators, they have spoken to
thousands of school children about
their stories and have written a
combined 15 books.
Our family is forever grateful to the
United States Holocaust Memorial
Museum for their commitment to
educating the world and making
sure that Never Again means Never
Again. Supporting this amazing
organization allows us to carry on
my parents’ mission of education
and to honor my grandmother’s last
wish of making sure the world never
forgets what happened. In this era of
disinformation and misinformation,
our history is the most important
thing that we can safeguard.”
