2002 The Museum launched its
multilingual website. In 2022, more than
30 million people visited ushmm.org
seeking the truth about the Holocaust
in 20 languages.

2008
The Museum began training members of
law enforcement, the military, and the
judiciary by exploring the decisions made
by their counterparts during the Holocaust.
To date, these programs have reached
61,970 members of the military, 23,430
members of the judiciary, and 155,930 law
enforcement professionals.
The Genocide Prevention Task Force, led
by Madeleine Albright and William Cohen,
released a groundbreaking report; in
2011, President Obama elevated genocide
prevention to a US government priority.
2007
The Museum led international negotiations
to open the largest closed archive in the
world, the International Tracing Service
(ITS). Since then, Museum researchers
have answered 28,713 requests for longsought information from survivors and
family members of survivors and victims,
as well as an additional 13,176 requests
from others seeking information.
