SHAPING TOMORROW’S
CITIZENS
We have personally
seen how the Museum
unites and sparks
dialogue between
multiple generations. Our passion
for the Museum began growing at
the time our children were learning
about the genocide taking place in
the Darfur region of Sudan. They
were educating us about Darfur,
while we were able to talk with
them about the Holocaust and the
Museum’s role in inspiring youth and
the leaders of tomorrow to confront
hatred and genocide.
Perceiving the cruelties and conditions
that exist today through the prism
of yesterday’s atrocities can create
a foundation for great citizenship
and concern for the world. That’s
why young people must understand
what the Museum has to offer them.
Its efforts do not stop at researching
or documenting the Holocaust. It is
actively involved in current events,
making a positive impact and working
to resolve atrocities in their infancy.
It can truly guide young people in
shaping the future.
The Museum is uniquely positioned
to educate others. It offers an
incredible repository of history
and extraordinary collections in its
building, which is a treasure. But even
more far-reaching today is how it
disseminates information beyond the
building, becoming a vital resource
and influence on a global scale.
As education and communication
continually evolve, we want to
ensure that it continues to meet both
the challenges and opportunities
that emerge years from now.
When we first visited the Museum
we had no idea what an important
part of our lives it would become.
As our commitment evolved to
wanting to take this next step,
we spoke to our now grown
children, Alexa and Matthew.
Together, we decided to make
the Museum a beneficiary of a life
insurance policy with the proceeds
directed toward the Museum’s
Endowment Fund. By supporting
the Museum in this way, we’re
ensuring its future for our children
while making a better world.”
