When the United States
Holocaust Memorial
Museum was founded,
Frania Rosenblatt
was 12 years old and
Moniek Deutsch was
we became charter
members. Although we
did not lose loved ones
and feel the pain in a
deeply personal way, we
recognized the importance
of establishing the Museum.
We strongly support its
mission to bring light to
modern-day atrocities and
prevent future holocausts.
It is truly a ‘memorial’ to
those who perished and
a source of comfort to
survivors and those who
lost loved ones. It is also a
‘museum’ that extensively
documents the Holocaust
and provides ongoing
education so that future
generations never forget the
precipitating events and the
horrendous acts committed.
The Museum is extremely
relevant and enormously
important to the future.”

from their families,
placed in concentration
camps, and branded with
tattooed numbers like
cattle. They witnessed
man’s inhumanity to
man, carrying physical
and emotional scars until
they died. Their families
were killed. All because
of unmitigated hate. No
one interceded to stop
the genocide, although
many had the power,
authority, and ability to do
so. Instead, they chose to
ignore what was happening
or actually participated.
In honor and in loving
memory of my parents,
Morris and Frieda Deutsch,
an endowment has been
established to educate the
police, the military, and
the judiciary to ensure this
never happens again.”
