Oklahoma and Oregon combined for 1,057 yards of offense and 53 first downs, both of which are the second most in
Valero Alamo Bowl history (Baylor and Washington totaled 1,397 yards and 59 first downs in the 2011 Valero Alamo Bowl).
Oklahoma got ahead early in what would wind up being a wire-to-wire victory. Two touchdowns from junior running
back Kennedy Brooks and two touchdowns from Caleb Williams through the air resulted in a dominant first half for
Oklahoma. The Sooners took a 30-3 lead into halftime, which is the second largest halftime margin in Valero Alamo Bowl
history (Oregon led TCU 31-0 at halftime of the 2015 Alamo Bowl).
Oklahoma’s rushing attack was led by Kennedy Brooks, who totaled 142 yards and 3 touchdowns on 14 carries.
Brooks’ efficient performance earned him offensive MVP honors.
After struggling in the first half, Oregon’s offense came out of firing, scoring 22 points in the third quarter. Quarterback
Anthony Brown threw two touchdown passes while running back Travis Dye added another TD on the ground en route
to a 153-yard rushing performance.
However, the emergence of the Ducks’ offense didn’t mean Oklahoma’s took a back seat. The Sooners scored 14
points of their own and remained comfortably ahead with a 44-25 lead going into the fourth quarter. The two offenses
combined for 36 points in the third quarter.
The game marked the first time Oklahoma has played in the Valero Alamo Bowl, and it was Oregon’s third
appearance. Oklahoma improved their all time record vs Oregon to 7-1.

The #20 Texas Longhorns maintained their status as the reigning Valero Alamo Bowl Champions with an impressive
55-23 win over the Colorado Buffaloes. Record breaking nights from Bijan Robinson and Casey Thompson led an
electric Longhorn offense that set the Valero Alamo Bowl record for most yards per play (9.4). Freshman running back
Bijan Robinson led the way for Texas with 236 all-purpose yards in a performance that earned him Offensive MVP.
The Longhorns and senior quarterback Sam Ehlinger started off hot, scoring on their first possession. Ehlinger was
forced to leave the game at half-time due to a shoulder injury, which shifted the spotlight to sophomore backup Casey
Thompson. After having only seven pass attempts all year, Thompson completed 8 of 10 passes for four touchdowns.
Thompson and Robinson were remarkably efficient, combining for seven touchdowns on only 22 combined touches.
Texas kicker Cameron Dicker etched his own name in history by booming the longest field goal in Valero Alamo Bowl
history with his 53 yarder in the second quarter.
Colorado star running back Jarek Broussard, The Pac-12 Offensive Player of the Year, rushed for 82 yards and two
scores.
Texas Head Coach Tom Herman continued his undefeated streak in bowl games, moving to 5-0 all-time. Linebacker
Demarvion Overshown earned the Defensive MVP award thanks in large part to a first quarter interception off Colorado
QB Sam Noyer that would lead to a Texas touchdown from Bijan Robinson.
