Brown’s final game of his
hall of fame career at Texas.
Oregon quarterback,
Marcus Maiota, ran for 133
yards - a Valero Alamo Bowl
record for a quarterback.
His 253 passing yards and
touchdown pass helped
lead the Ducks to their third
straight bowl victory.
Oregon senior receiver Josh Huff’s 104 receiving
yards helped him set the Oregon single-season
receiving record with 1,140 yards. His touchdown
reception helped Oregon extend its lead just before
halftime.
The standing room only crowd of 65,918 was the
second-highest attendance in Valero Alamo Bowl
history and the game’s third-straight sellout. With
7.6 million views, the 2013 game was the 7th mostwatched non-BCS game in ESPN history.

a 10-point deficit to beat
No. 13 Oregon State 31-27
in another sold out Valero
Alamo Bowl.
Longhorn quarterback
David Ash threw a 15-
yard touchdown pass to
Johnathan Gray to cut
the lead to three and later
threw a 36-yard TD pass to
Marquise Goodwin to give
the Longhorns the win.
Goodwin, later voted offensive MVP, also had a
64-yard touchdown run in second quarter.
Texas defensive end Alex Okafor’s 4.5 sack
performance set a Valero Alamo Bowl record. The
senior pass rusher and defensive MVP for the game
also had nine tackles and a forced fumble.
This win was the Longhorns 28th comeback
victory under Mack Brown and one of 17 that
occurred in the fourth quarter.

No. 12 Baylor pulled out
a thrilling Valero Alamo
Bowl victory in the highestscoring regulation game
in bowl history. The Bears
defeated Washington
67-56 on Dec. 29, 2011 at
the Alamodome in front of a
crowd of 65,256.
Baylor quarterback
Robert Griffin III, the first
reigning Heisman Trophy
winner to appear in the Valero Alamo Bowl, threw
for one touchdown and rushed for another. But it
was Baylor tailback and offensive MVP, Terrance
Ganaway, who led the way with 200 yards and five
touchdowns.
The game set various bowl records, including
total points in regulation and total offense in a bowl
game. Washington took a 56-53 lead with 9:40 to
go on a Keith Price 8-yard touchdown run. But the
Bears answered with Ganaway’s fourth TD of the
night to take a lead that Baylor wouldn’t relinquish.
