Curriculum Review
– Maths / Arts
After successful reviews of the Mathematics and Arts curricula last academic year,
a curriculum review of the Personal, Social and Physical Education curriculum
was conducted during the second semester of 2024–25. The goal for the review
was: By the end of the review process, we
aim to develop an up-to-date, articulated, whole-school PSPE curriculum that
is best suited to our school context, meets
the requirements of the IB standards and
practices, and encourages ongoing collaboration across transitions.
Assessment – Data Plan &
Refining Reporting Practices
The Primary School has worked to establish a shared understanding of reporting
processes within the school, publishing
communication to ensure all stakeholders are aware of the different processes
for reporting and their role within this. An
important aspect of this was to review the
role of the student in these procedures.
Structures used to report student learning at VIS include: parent/teacher conferences, student conferences, the student
portfolio and the written report.
Additionally, the development and implementation of a Data Plan in the Primary
school ensures that decisions on curriculum development, planning, implementation as well as reporting will be strongly
informed by the range of data gathered
about student learning.
