Secondary School Report
This year the Secondary School was
marked by significant achievements,
demonstrating our commitment to excellence in education, extra-curricular
enrichment, and supporting the well-being of students.
Implementation of New
Phone Guidelines
We’re happy to share that the introduction of cell phone guidelines at our school
is already showing encouraging results.
VIS is not alone in this and most schools
in our region have something similar already in place or are working towards
implementation. Though it’s still early,
we’ve seen improvements in students’ focus, engagement, and overall behavior in
the classroom. Without the constant distraction of phones, students seem more
attentive in lessons, more active in class
discussions, and more connected with
each other, building a stronger sense of
community.
We’d like to extend a heartfelt thanks to
our parents for their support in making
this shift possible. By reinforcing these
efforts at home, parents have played a
key role in helping students adapt to the
new guidelines and understand the importance of being fully present in their
learning. This partnership has made a
real difference.
While our observations are still informal,
they’re a great reflection of our shared
goal to support our students’ academic
and personal growth. With the continued support of our families and staff,
we’re looking forward to seeing how
these changes will benefit our students
in the long run. Thank you for helping
us create a school environment that encourages focus, connection, and a love
for learning.

Activity Week and
Curriculum Trips
School trips, whether part of grade-level Activity Week or curriculum-related
day or overnight trips, are an important
aspect of student life at VIS. These continued this year, and they provide students with the chance to step outside the
classroom and see what they’re learning
in action. From visiting historical sites
to exploring nature or attending cultural events, these trips offer a unique opportunity to deepen understanding and
make lessons more meaningful. They
also promote teamwork and help students develop life skills, as they work together, solve problems, and engage with
new environments. They are vital as part
of the process in welcoming new students
and staff to the VIS community. This is
especially the case with Activity Week in
September as we started the year on a
