MYP at VIS.

External Benchmarking
Assessments in the MYP
This year we transitioned our baseline
testing from MidyIs and Yellis to the Math
and Reading components of the Measures
of Academic Progress (MAP) provided by Northwest Evaluation Association
(NWEA). Starting in the 2024-25 school
year, all MYP cohorts (Grades 6–10) take
MAP tests to ensure full platform and data
continuity between Primary and Secondary
schools. These external benchmarking tests
act as useful proximal indicators of student

The International Baccalaureate Middle
Years Programme (IB MYP) is an inclusive
educational programme designed for students in Grades 6–10. The programme emphasizes intellectual challenge and encourages students to make practical connections
between their studies and the real world.
VIS is a three-programme IB world school
and has been following the MYP since our
official reauthorization in 2011.
