Annual Report 2024 – 2025
Competitive Sports
Our Programmes
at a Glance
a range of teams so students can compete
at levels suited to their abilities.
At VIS, we believe in supporting every
student’s interests and development in
sports and activities. Through our three
core after school programmes — After
School Activities, Competitive Sports, and
Off-Season Sports — students gain the opportunity to develop diverse skills, experience teamwork, and build friendships
across year groups. Each programme is
accessible to parents through the SchoolBuddy app, allowing for selection and
management of the respective activities.
Participation in the Competitive Sports
programme generally means students will
represent VIS in events, with opportunities to compete through two international
school athletic associations. These affiliations enable our athletes to experience
tournaments, festivals, and friendly exchanges where they can showcase resilience, teamwork, and a love for the game,
regardless of the score.
1. After School Activities (ASA)
The ASA programme is designed to spark
interest, foster skills, and encourage personal growth in a small-group setting beyond the core school day. Our extensive
selection includes sports, cooking, arts,
IT, and language-based activities. With
groups that mix students from various
year groups, ASA offers a unique opportunity for mentorship and new friendships.
Whether exploring a new interest or deepening a favourite hobby, students thrive in
a supportive, engaging environment.
2. Competitive Sports (CS)
For those passionate about sports, our
Competitive Sports programme provides
an inclusive yet challenging environment. Our dedicated and experienced
coaches work with students of all skill
levels, fostering athletic growth through
progressive training sessions. Each
sport, from football and cross-country
to swimming, skiing, and basketball, is
structured to include all players, offering
3. Off-Season Sports (OS)
The Off-Season Sports programme, our
most popular option, is perfect for students who wish to train in their favourite
sports without the pressure of competition. These sessions provide a relaxed,
fun space to develop skills and confidence while encouraging the hard work
and perseverance central to our school’s
values. Many students find the Off-Season programme a great way to enhance
their abilities, which may later support
their participation in competitive teams.
Training sessions for this OS programme
are based on the Games-Based Approach
used in our Physical Education programme, ensuring a safe and enjoyable
experience for all.
Our commitment to growth means we continuously reflect on these programmes,
always looking for ways to improve and
enhance every athlete’s experience. We
are proud of our well-established programmes and eager to build upon our successes to support every student’s athletic
journey, year after year.
