Eco School
For VIS sustainability involves student
and community actions that result from
the Education for Sustainable Development that we aim through our Eco Agenda. Our goal is to promote the necessary
changes in our lifestyles that help restore
our planet.
Our Eco Agenda integrates the Eco
Schools programme, the Global Schools
Programme, the Umweltzeichen Programme, and it is aiming to integrate the
UNESCO programme for ESD in 2025.
The Eco Agenda includes the fundamental support of the Eco Team that provides
with the foundation for the VIS community to make educated choices towards
a more sustainable world. We have also
the Eco Action Team that includes the
Green Teams and the Eco Action Projects,
offered through the CAS and S&A programme. We also support independent
student’s projects, who help our school
become more environmentally friendly.
In collaboration with the Green Team
Parents (PTA), we have the Lost & Found
project, also as an opportunity offered to
our students as CAS and S&A.
The Education for Sustainable Development Team are all our teachers that enhance the curricular work with the Eco
School Themes, the Umweltzeichen (Austrian Green Label) Themes, the SDGs, and
as of next year, the Domains of the Greening Curricula developed by UNESCO. All
together we work to promote that our
students succeed in their future careers,
and become conscious, knowledgeable,
productive and active global citizens.
Our Green Teams in Primary school continue engaging in campaigns and activities that help our community understand
the relevance of the world issues and the
importance of acting for our planet. They
meet twice a month to discuss new issues,
organize the campaigns, and promote the
development of awareness towards more
sustainable lifestyles among our students.
A fantastic ongoing action involves the
development of an Eco Store, in which
