provides VIS with the necessary guidance to continue its mission of offering
a valuable Education for Sustainable
Development.
Also, this November, the Primary and
Secondary Green Teams presented the
outcomes from our most recent Action
Plan (2019–2024) as part of our Eco
School re-accreditation review and discussed potential actions based on results
of the environmental review and the draft
for the new Action Plan. We proudly obtained our 4th Green Flag! Based on the
review recommendations we will continue working on our 2024–2028 Action
Plan. Congratulations to the Primary and
Secondary Green Teams for their commitment as Ambassadors of VIS and achieving the 4th Green Flag!
Our Global Action Days continue promoting awareness and the development
of sustainable actions towards achieving
a more sustainable lifestyle. We procure
that our students get opportunities to
gain informal education on the scientific
basis behind the global changes, focusing on integrating the Global Goals and
the involvement of our community. This
year we have celebrated Earth Day with
the Theme: Planet vs. Plastic, Peace Day
with the Theme: Cultivating a culture
of peace, the Sustainability Education
Action Week with the Theme: Innovation and ideas for a sustainable school,
and the UN Human Rights Day with the
Theme: Reducing inequalities and advancing human rights.
We extend our gratitude to all VIS community members who continuously support our Green Teams in promoting sustainable practices and lifestyle changes to
help ensure a healthy, thriving planet for
future generations.
