Weather Stripping & Seals
Possible Deficiency:
Air or water infiltration at exterior doors and windows.
Performance Standard:
Air or water infiltration may occur around doors and windows, especially during adverse weather
conditions that may produce excessive, high winds with above average rain. Poorly fitted weather
stripping or adjustable thresholds shall be adjusted or replaced.
Responsibility:
Builder will adjust or correct poorly fitted doors and windows or poorly fitted weather stripping
during the 1st year Warranty Period. However, no determination of exterior door water leaks will be
evaluated unless the Homeowner has a properly installed storm door. It is the Homeowner9s
responsibility to adjust thresholds during the change of seasons, if necessary.
W. B. Homes recommends that all exterior doors exposed to adverse weather elements
receive a storm door to prevent wind driven rains from entering the home. It is the
Homeowner's responsibility to install storm doors. Builder is not responsible to make
repairs to items damaged by water intrusion at exterior doors and windows.
TOPIC: INSULATION, LOUVERS, VENTS, ROOFING, SIDING, GUTTERS & SEALANTS
Insulation
Possible Deficiency:
Insufficient insulation.
Performance Standard:
Insulation shall be installed in accordance with applicable Energy and Building Code requirements.
Responsibility:
Builder will install insulation in sufficient amounts to meet the Performance Standard.
Louvers & Vents
Possible Deficiency:
Leaks due to snow or rain driven into the attic through louvers or vents.
Performance Standard:
Attic vents and/or louvers must be provided in order to properly ventilate your house.
Responsibility:
None. Builder is not responsible to make repairs to items damaged by snow or water intrusion
through attic louvers or vents.
