Condensation
Possible Deficiency:
Presence of condensation on the interior of the home.
Performance Standard:
Condensation is a natural process. When water is removed from the air, condensation can occur on
many different material surfaces, such as windows, doors, skylights, toilets, water pipes, gas pipes, bvents, plumbing fixtures, etc.
Responsibility:
Builder is not responsible for the presence of condensation or the accumulation of mold produced by
condensation on these material surfaces or adjacent surfaces, i.e. finish floorings, carpet, vinyl,
hardwood and ceramic tile.
Bathroom Exhaust Fans
Exhaust fans must be on during showers or baths to allow steam and moisture to be
removed and to prevent water and mildew damage in bathrooms. Damage due to
moisture build up is not warranted. Exhaust fans should continue to run until all
moisture is removed from bathrooms.
