Transformational Leadership
Meet Our Nursing Leaders!
Julie Christenbury, BSN, RN
joined the Seacoast Cancer team at
WDH in July of 2021. She is a graduate of
Curry College and has been a nurse for 13
years, 8 of those at WDH on an inpatient
Med-surg unit. Prior to Julia’s departure 2.5 years ago
to pursue a nurse management opportunity she was
a CPL on 3G. Leadership is something that presented
itself and allowed her to continue to care for patients
by caring for the staff taking care of them. She has done
a lot of learning and growing as a leader over the years
and has embraced all aspects of the growth. Julia has
truly enjoyed nursing leadership and looks forward to
the support in this role from knowledgeable leaders at
WDH. Julia’s husband is a retired fire fighter and became
a nurse in 2018. He was able to combine his passion
and knowledge of science with caring for patients and
their families. Together they are able to support one
another, not only as husband and wife, but as health
care professionals. Julia’s mother, Chris Tenuta, has
also been a nurse at WDH for 25 years. She has inspired
Julia to always take the time to listen to patients, make
a connection, and keep the patients dignity throughout
all aspects of their care. Julia has two dogs, Kobi, a 4-year
old Bernese Mountain Dog, and Maverick, a 4-month old
Black Lab.
Julia says “I am grateful and honored every day to be
a part of the SCC team at WDH. I truly believe in this
organization for supporting staff, and the care that is
given by all members of the WDH team to the patients
we care for. I look forward to continuing to grow in this
leadership role, support the staff and team I work with,
collaborate with the providers, and give the absolute best
care to the patients we see!”
