The Women’s Foundation of Boston’s
Proprietary Programs
In addition to funding the high-impact programs of our grantee
partners, WFBoston has created two initiatives to promote
professional development in the nonprofit sector. In 2022, we
reached 385 women with our proprietary activities.
BoardHub
BoardHub strengthens the boards of directors of our
grantee partners, helping them determine their optimal
board composition and develop strategies for acquiring
the board talent that they need.
A stronger board of directors leads to a stronger organization.
BoardHub provides free consulting to share best practices
and tools to our grantee partners to optimize their efforts and
improve various aspects of board effectiveness, including
how to:
The Women in Nonprofit (WIN) Network
WIN is a joint initiative between the Women’s Foundation of
Boston and the Red Sox Foundation designed to facilitate
best practice sharing among the female executive directors
and CEOs of Boston-area nonprofits.
In 2022, WIN hosted three events with 197 total participants.
> Build strong and diverse talent pipelines
> Structure committees and meetings
> Support new board chairs as they transition into their
leadership roles
Since BoardHub began in 2020, we have worked with
the board of directors of eight of our grantee partners.
The chairs of their boards and governance and nominating
committees have reported an increased ability to deliver
on their missions.
