GLENUGIE
1966 SAMAROLI SINGLE CASK
43% | 70cl
A well-regarded distillery in its time, Glenugie was
primarily tasked with providing single malt for the
Long John blends. The distillery was a victim of the
harsh economic climate of the 1980s and with a drop
in demand closed its doors for good in 1983. Long
since dismantled, with its stock and brand name
under ownership of Chivas Brothers, there have been
very few official bottlings released. Any independent
examples that exist are highly prized. This specific
bottling was distilled in 1966 and bottled for Silvano
Samaroli in 1986, one of several spectacular “natural
strength” releases that year.
