WM. CADENHEAD
Founded in 1842 by George Duncan, respected
vintner and distillery agent, Wm. Cadenhead is
Scotland’s oldest independent bottler. William
Cadenhead was a pioneer in bottling uncoloured and
non-chill filtered single malts, leading the way more
than a century before the practice caught on in the
rest of the industry. The company remained familyowned for almost 130 years, until it was taken over
by the renowned Campbeltown firm J & A Mitchell
& Co. Ltd. who own Springbank distillery.
