LETTER FROM
YSO LEADERSHIP
Dear Friends of the York Symphony Orchestra,
Do you feel the excitement in the
air as the York Symphony Orchestra
and Maestro Lawrence Golan begin
another uplifting, inspiring, and
entertaining season?
Neither lockdowns, social distancing,
nor masks could keep patrons from
experiencing the YSO on screen
or in person. The York Symphony
Orchestra, staff, and Board of Directors exhibited great resilience
through the pandemic by performing digital livestreams; delivering
Valentine candy and music grams to your doors; and conducting
an in-person music camp. The summer YSO outdoor concerts at
the York Fairgrounds reminded us of the powerful impact of live
performance.
Despite any uncertainty, we have mobilized thousands of listeners
to experience the YSO and to be enriched by the joys and emotions
brought with orchestral music. You, our York community, have
supported the YSO in unprecedented ways, and we hope we’ve
supported you, too. We sincerely thank you and appreciate you!
We don’t know what the future holds, but we do know our mission
is of vital importance for people of all ages throughout the region.
We promise we will keep working as hard as ever—pandemic or
not—to deliver on that mission.
However, and wherever you can join us, we are beyond grateful
to see you at the Symphony. Stay healthy, stay strong, and stay
musical.
Yours truly,
Lynda Randall
